The Architecture of Survival
A Note from the Founder
The Deconstruction
I didn't start Auroara because I had all the answers. I started it because the baggage of my past was choking
me.
My journey has been an ongoing deconstruction of a complex reality: growing up in a straight, white,
conservative
Christian nationalist-leaning home as a gay male who was adopted and mixed (Black and White).
For years, I existed in the tension of those identities. I tried to fit into boxes that were never built for
me. But eventually, the weight of it—compounded by adult traumas and a situation with a former employer that
left me feeling completely defeated and paralyzed—broke the shelf. I knew I needed a better way to live, or I
wasn't going to survive the noise in my own head.
Finding Logic in the Chaos
I have always appreciated facts and honesty. I was always fascinated with Sci-Fi—specifically the Vulcans, who
honored logic above all else. That fascination became my lifeline. One of the heaviest burdens on my shoulders
was knowing the people i love hurt me so badly, how do I reconcile that?
That is when I discovered Radical Acceptance.
It was the tool that allowed me to step back and look at the data of my life objectively. I realized that just
because you accept things as they are, doesn't mean you are condoning or supporting them. You are simply
accepting reality as it is. You are being objective about all parties involved—including yourself.
This shift allowed me to accept people as they are. Instead of getting taken out by the waves of anger,
misplaced rage, and venom I received when deconstructing from those in my past, I was able to stand firm on my
ground. I learned to honor my truths and my lived experience. I finally started taking the good parts,
throwing out the bad parts, and healing.
My Truth & Mission
Being true to myself is the single most freeing thing I have ever done. I have created the content on this
website based on my experience and the research I did to go beyond trying to survive and starting to truly
thrive.
Here is what I believe:
I believe all humans are deserving of dignity, housing, medical care, food, and expression of self. I believe
in a "do
no harm" philosophy, as well as taking care of our planet just as it takes care of us. Deconstructing the
propaganda and realizing we are all human and we have more in common than different is key to a true healing.
Radical acceptance isn't a religion. It's not an organization. It's not for everybody. It is simply one
path—the one I chose. It holds the space for you to feel your emotions in a healthy manner, while reminding
you not to be consumed by them. It taught me a better way to think and a framework for living free.
Meet Helios
I designed the Radical Resolve Bot, Helios, to help you through your learning. You can chat with them about
situations you might be going through. They will help you separate the facts from the feelings, find the
truth about where every player in that story is at, and frame actionable insights. A lot of times we already
know the answers; we just need someone to frame the logic for us.
"Don't just find your voice; I want to hear the beautiful auROARa of your healing and your journey of growth!"
